Jetty Road Retreat

- Escape to Nature -

Jetty Road Retreat offers waterfront self-contained accommodation in a spectacular lakeside location, perfectly positioned between Lakes Entrance and Metung. Featuring four comfortably furnished cabins, each offering breathtaking lake views, and a sense of privacy and seclusion.

Our accommodation appeals equally to couples, families, solo travellers and friends, looking to escape the everyday humdrum, enjoy life’s simple pleasures, and reconnect with nature.

The soul stirring water views and bushland setting create a sense of serenity and calm upon arrival, beckoning you to slow down, breathe, and switch to a lower gear. Friendly native birds drop into visit daily, and there’s complimentary birdseed to feed them. You don’t need to be a bird lover to delight in their cheeky antics, as you watch the pecking order unfold amongst the different species.

With the lake on your doorstep, you can get out and make a splash with kayaks and life vests available free of charge for guest enjoyment. Whether it’s just a gentle paddle between the jetties, or longer voyage to explore hidden beaches and waterways, it’s worth getting out on the water – you may be lucky enough to spot some of our resident Burrunan dolphins.

- The Location -

Taking full advantage of our hillside location, each of the four secluded cabins offer enviable lake views, looking down through the treetops to the water’s edge below.  Framed by two jetties and an historic boatshed, the Nungurner foreshore situated below your accommodation provides an enchanting setting for your lakeside holiday. A gentle walking path leads down from the Retreat to the water’s edge below, with a small lake beach stretching between the two jetties.  Offering sheltered, shallow access to the lake, this is the perfect spot to launch a kayak, try your luck with the fish, or enjoy a swim if you’re here in the warmer months.

The Gippsland lakes system offers great fishing and boating year-round, with inland rivers, lakes and ocean frontage to choose from.  Whether you're experienced or a beginner, try your luck at bagging a bream, flathead, whiting or salmon off the jetty. Boat owners can also take advantage of our private jetty, and bring their boat to enjoy the best of both worlds, on and off the water.

- Nearby -

Metung is a small waterside village located under 10-minutes’ drive from our accommodation. Here you can stretch your legs on the boardwalk into town, stock up on local provisions, enjoy a meal at an intimate café or great waterfront pub, or grab a coffee or lunch at the bakery and stretch out on the lawn area of Paterson Park, which also features a great playground and kids waterpark.

Lakes Entrance is a 15-minute drive, offering a wide array of restaurants and cafes, shopping, supermarkets, fresh caught seafood, and access to 90-mile beach.  This lively little coastal town has been a much-loved holiday destination amongst families for many years. Here you’ll find plenty to entertain the kids, including mini-golf, playgrounds, skate park, paddle boats and beachside adventures.  It’s not all about kids though! Lakes Entrance is also the place to step aboard a lakes cruise or fishing charter, enjoy some retail therapy, ride a camel on the beach, or take to the skies in a helicopter.
